Hi, I’m Vega. I was brought to a city pound in Korea in 2024, and no one ever came to claim me. When no one came forward to adopt me, I was eventually placed on the euthanasia list. Thankfully, I was rescued—but after some difficult moves caused by irresponsible people, I finally found stability and have now been living at the same shelter for the past 9 months.I know I may not be the easiest dog to notice. In Korea, older, large, black dogs like me are often overlooked. But I’m hoping someone will look past that and see the gentle, loving girl I am. I’m a little shy when we first meet, but if you’re gentle with me, I’ll happily accept your pets. Tasty treats are definitely the fastest way to my heart! Once I feel completely safe and comfortable, I’ll even roll over and show you my belly. I’m calm and peaceful around other dogs. I’m happy to share my space and say hello, although I’m not the kind of girl who immediately wants to play with everyone. I may occasionally invite a dog to play, but I’m just as happy relaxing beside my friends.I have moderate-to-low energy and enjoy getting outside to explore. I haven’t had many opportunities for walks, so I get very excited when I’m finally out! New places and busy city noises can make me a little nervous, but I’m learning.I’m still working on a few things. I’m not yet housetrained, and I may whine when crated. I sometimes bark when I want something, and I’m protective of my food around other dogs. But I have not shown aggression toward people, have no resource guarding issues with people, and have no escape tendencies or separation anxiety.I’ve spent so much of my life waiting. All I need now is someone willing to give a sweet senior girl a chance.
