À propos

My name is ARCHIE and here is a little info about me:Breed: Terrier MixAge: Approximately 4 years oldGender: MaleWeight: Approximately 13.5 kg / 29.8 lbsHighlight(s): Gentle, good with people and dogs, good leash manners, outdoor potty trained, calm while adjustingI am a gentle boy with a warm brown coat, a scruffy Terrier face, and dark markings around my eyes that look almost like natural mascara. I am calm, soft-hearted, and slowly learning to feel safe in my new environment. I was brought into the Changwon City Shelter in Gyeongnam, South Korea after a report was made and I was captured by animal control. The shelter officer noticed that I had a gentle nature and was trying to promote me for adoption. I was then rescued, and after my rescue I stayed at the veterinary hospital for about one week. During that time, I received the basic care I needed, including deworming, basic vaccinations, and neuter surgery. When I first arrived at the shelter after leaving the hospital, I was nervous because so many things had changed in a short period of time. With time, I slowly began to open up, and I am now starting to approach people and dog friends more comfortably. I am gentle, calm, cautious, and soft-natured.I do not reject people and I accept gentle touch, but I am not the type of dog who immediately runs up to be held or asks for a lot of affection right away. Since I have only recently left the city shelter and am still adjusting to shelter life, I may need a little more time for my true personality to fully show. I do well with both men and women, and I do not have a major problem with people approaching or touching me. On walks, I do not react strongly to people or other dogs and I walk calmly. I also get along well with other dogs. I seem comfortable around dog friends, and no major issues have been observed so far. No destructive behavior has been observed. My best home would be a calm and stable home that will give me time to adjust to a new environment. I could do well as the only dog, and I could also do well in a home with another dog. I get along well with other dogs and seem comfortable around dog friends. After adoption, it would be best for my family not to expect too much from me right away. Please give me 2–3 weeks of decompression time and allow me to open up at my own pace. I would be a good match for a family who understands a dog who builds trust slowly and quietly.I walk well on leash and do well around people and other dogs. I am currently working on crate training. Please continue helping me with basic routines, crate training, and any needed training in my new home. I walk well on leash. On walks, I do not react strongly to people or other dogs and I walk calmly. Please help me build a safe walking routine in my new environment. House trained: Yes. I am outdoor potty trained. Please help me keep a regular outdoor potty routine in my new home.No known major health issues at this time. After rescue, I had a veterinary check-up and received the necessary basic care, including deworming, basic vaccinations, and neuter surgery. I have been neutered and vaccinated. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver.Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you.Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live.
