About
My name is RAE and here is a little info about me:Breed: Terrier MixAge: Approximately 3 years oldGender: FemaleWeight: 12.3 kg / 27 lbsHeight: Not measuredHighlight(s): Gentle, affectionate, people-friendly, good with dogs, good house mannersI am a sweet and gentle Terrier mix girl with a soft white coat and a loving personality. I truly enjoy being around people, and I am comfortable with human touch and handling. I am affectionate, friendly, and people-oriented, and I also get along well with other dogs.I was rescued from a municipal animal shelter in Gwangju, South Korea. My rescue story is a little special because my gentle personality touched the heart of one of the shelter officials. I was staying at a municipal shelter where dogs could face euthanasia, but the official felt that I was far too sweet and gentle to lose my chance at finding a loving family. The shelter official personally reached out to DoReMi Rescue and asked whether they could help me. That is how I came into DoReMi’s care. Now I am ready for the next chapter of my life with a loving forever family.I am gentle, affectionate, friendly, and people-oriented. I genuinely love people and enjoy human interaction. I am comfortable being touched and handled, and no significant behavioral issues have been observed during veterinary visits. I do well with both women and men, and I have a calm, sweet nature. I also get along well with other dogs and have shown a friendly and sociable personality around them. I have a balanced energy level and rarely bark.I am doing well with house training, crate training, and leash walking. I am an easygoing girl who would make a lovely companion for someone looking for a sweet and gentle dog.My best home would be with a calm and mature adult household, preferably with a settled couple who can give me a stable routine, gentle care, and plenty of love. I would especially enjoy a home with a securely fenced yard where I can spend time safely, relax, and adjust at my own pace. I enjoy being around people and get along well with other dogs, so I may do well either as the only dog or in a home with a compatible canine companion. Because I have a moderate energy level and good basic training habits, I could adapt well to a calm home environment. As with any newly adopted rescue dog, I will need a patient family who can give me time to settle in and feel secure in my new surroundings. Please help me adjust slowly and continue giving me structure, routine, and love.I have not been tested with cats yet. Kids are unknown. I have not been tested with children yet. I am doing well with house training, crate training, and leash walking. I am comfortable with handling and did well during veterinary visits. Please continue helping me with basic routines and any training I may need in my new home. I walk well on leash. Please continue helping me build a safe and consistent walking routine in my new environment. I am doing well with house training. However, I may have accidents in a new environment, so please help me build a consistent potty routine and understand where to go in my new home.I am healthy and have no known major health issues. I have been spayed and my vaccinations are complete. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver.Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you.Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in whic
Wanloo connects you with the shelter. You adopt directly with them.
