My name is TIA (taeyangi), and here is a little information about me:Breed: Terrier MixAge: Approximately 2 years and 8 months oldDate of Birth: March 1, 2024 (Estimated)Gender: FemaleWeight: 12 kg / 26.5 lbsColor: Black and TanHighlight(s): Gentle, calm, affectionate, independent, good with cats, crate trained, and outdoor potty trainedI am a gentle Terrier Mix girl with a beautiful shaggy black and tan coat, expressive brown eyes, and charming whiskers. I also have little white markings on my chest and paws that make me even more unique. I am not the kind of dog who shows affection in a big or demanding way. Instead, once I feel comfortable, I quietly come to your side, lean against you, and wait for a gentle touch. What makes me happiest is sharing peaceful moments with someone I trust. My story began in Hampyeong, South Korea, in June 2024. I was only a few months old when I arrived at a municipal animal shelter with a serious wound around my neck. I was a frightened little puppy who desperately needed medical attention and care. By August, I was facing euthanasia. Thankfully, rescuers learned about my situation and decided to give me a second chance. But just as I was about to be rescued, something unexpected happened. I disappeared from the shelter. My rescuers refused to give up on me. They put up missing-dog posters and searched for more than two months, hoping they would find me alive. Then, on November 15, 2024, they finally found me. I was extremely thin and frightened. The wound around my neck had healed without proper treatment, leaving a noticeable scar. I was also diagnosed with heartworm disease. After my rescue, I was brought to safety, received the care I needed, and successfully completed my heartworm treatment.Despite everything I experienced as a puppy, I never lost my ability to trust and connect with people. During my time at the rescue shelter, I have grown into a remarkably gentle, calm, and affectionate girl. I have spent a long time waiting for a family of my own. Now, I no longer need rescuing. What I need is a loving family who will give me a place to belong for the rest of my life.I am gentle, calm, affectionate, and independent. I can also be a little reserved when meeting new people. When I first meet someone, I prefer to keep a little distance and observe. I do not immediately approach strangers, but once I feel safe, I gradually open up and come closer on my own. I do not jump on people or constantly demand attention. Instead, I quietly approach, stand beside you, or gently lean against you to show that I would enjoy being petted. I truly enjoy affection, but I express it in a soft and subtle way. I get along well with women and can also do well with men. I simply appreciate a gentle approach and a little time to become familiar with someone new. I have a naturally calm personality and enjoy a quiet, predictable routine. I am comfortable resting on my own and do not require constant attention.I generally get along well with other dogs, although I prefer calm and respectful companions. If an overly energetic dog repeatedly approaches me while I am resting, I may communicate that I would like some space. However, I have not shown aggressive or biting behavior toward other dogs. One of my special qualities is that I get along exceptionally well with cats. I have been observed rubbing against them, resting beside them, and even sleeping together with them. I am a quiet and independent girl who is still capable of forming a deep and loving bond with my person. My ideal home would be a quiet, stable household with a mature adult or couple who enjoys peaceful companionship and building a close bond with their dog. I prefer a relaxed lifestyle with regular walks, comfortable resting time, and gentle interaction with my family. I would especially enjoy being the only dog, where I could form a special connection with my person. However, I could also live with another dog, provided that dog has a calm and gentle personality. A busy home with several highly energetic dogs would not be my preferred environment. I could live comfortably in an apartment or a house. A securely fenced yard would be lovely, especially because I prefer to go potty outdoors, but it is not essential as long as my family provides regular walks and outdoor potty breaks. I would also be happy in a home with cats, as I have already shown that I enjoy their company. Because sudden movements and loud noises can frighten me, I would be better suited to a quiet home without very young children. Most importantly, I need someone who respects my pace, approaches me gently, and allows me time to build trust. I do not need an especially active lifestyle. A peaceful home, regular walks, gentle affection, and a family who loves me just the way I am would mean everything to me.I know basic commands such as sit and wait, and I respond well to gentle guidance. I am very comfortable with my crate and often choose to rest or sleep inside it. At my current shelter, I can stay alone calmly for several hours, and no signs of separation anxiety have been observed. I am generally very quiet. I may bark briefly when an unfamiliar person enters my living space, but I settle quickly. I do not normally bark at strangers during walks. I enjoy food and treats, but I do not steal food from other dogs. If another dog approaches my treat, I may communicate that I would prefer some space, so providing a peaceful feeding environment would be appreciated. I travel well in the car without motion sickness and behave calmly during veterinary visits. I am also comfortable with bathing, grooming, and gentle handling, including having my paws, ears, and mouth touched. Please continue helping me maintain my familiar routines and gradually build confidence in my new home.I walk calmly on leash and enjoy exploring my surroundings at a relaxed pace. I do not tend to pull strongly, and I feel most comfortable when my handler allows me to walk at my own speed. I prefer peaceful, leisurely walks rather than fast-paced exercise. Please continue helping me maintain comfortable leash manners in my new environment.I am housetrained. I am outdoor potty trained and do not normally mark indoors. I sometimes take a little time to find the right spot before going potty. I may have occasional accidents while adjusting to a new environment, so please help me establish a consistent outdoor potty routine in my new home.I previously had heartworm disease, but I have successfully completed treatment. The wound around my neck from before my rescue has fully healed, leaving a noticeable scar. I have no known current illnesses and am not taking any medication. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver.
