À propos

Hi, I’m Moe, a 7 year old, 26lb Jack Russell mix, originally from Shanghai. My journey from China to Canada was a pretty stressful experience and I was in a heightened state of anxiety when I first arrived. Between that, and the fact that I am a high energy little dog who tends to push the boundaries, it was quickly determined that I wasn’t a fit for my inexperienced adopter so I was moved to a foster home. I am being rehomed by my owner as he is elderly and can no longer walk me. I am an active little dog who enjoys my twice daily walks. My best friends are Charlie, the pitbull, and Pip, the beagle, who is also fostered here. We love playing together.Recently I have been going to the local dog park and I've met lots of dogs who love to wrestle with me. It's such a great feeling to be able to run and play and explore and it's so good for my mental and physical well-being. The people I meet there have commented that I am full of character. I do have a tendency to be possessive about my toys, so if you have another dog in the home you'll need to be aware of that. On the plus side, I'm a very affectionate dog who just loves to be picked up and cuddled. Watching T.V with my human is something I really enjoy - you'll be amused to see how much I focus on the screen - I could have been a movie producer in another life!As is typical of my breed, I’m a feisty girl with a fairly high prey drive. If I see cats, squirrels, or other small animals when we’re out for a walk, I show a great amount of interest in them, so it's probably best not to take me on off-leash hikes until we are well and truly bonded and you're sure of my recall. My foster dad says I now come back to him very well, though he wouldn't have dared let me off-leash at first.I could happily come along with you for long walks, or perhaps even be your jogging buddy, if you're into that. Maybe you could teach me how to nose a soccer ball around, or catch a frisbee. We Jack Russell's are smart and curious dogs who can be very focused on tasks that interest us. Typical of my breed, I have a fair amount of energy. But I am able to stay settled inside my home as long as I am taken for regular walks. I also Initially we thought I would not be suitable for an apartment because of my energy and tendency to bark at things. However, my says I'm not barking much anymore, especially when I am playing with my toys, so that's a good way to keep my mind busy. Another of my favourite activities is climbing into and under things, so don't be surprised if you come home to find me tucked inside an open cupboard or buried beneath a pile of blankets. My ideal home would be with someone who can give me some guidance and boundaries and who has lots of time to spend with me. I think I would get bored and depressed if I were left alone too much as I really do enjoy being with people.Once you get to know me you'll see I am a quirky and delightful little dog who is full of character. Come and meet me and see for yourself. I am spayed, vaccinated and microchipped and my adoption fee is $500 CAD + applicable taxes. **Vaccinations: Dogs from China are vaccinated for rabies, distemper, parainfluenza, hepatitis, parvovirus.Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and to read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.
