Hello all. My name is DUSTY (aka Felix) and here is some info about me:Breed: Siberian Husky/Australian Cattle Dog/Am Pitbull Terrier (see Embark results)Age: 3 yrsGender: maleWeight: 56 lbsHeight: 21 inchesCountry of origin: US, New MexicoHighlights: active, smart, playful, affectionateI am an energetic boy who loves being a part of the action.Rescued just hours before being euthanized, due to overcrowding at the shelter, a group pulled me out in the nick of time. Phew, close call. I'm making the most of my second chance.You'll find me to be quite smart and I know sone basic commands (like sit down and wait) and I'm quite eager to learn more. I enjoy pleasing you.I am also crate trained, though I do hope there will be a minimal amount of that, if any at all. I can tend to break out of a crate if left for too long. I have done well being transported in a kennel. I do settle in very good riding in a car though. I've even had a seat harness and done quite well with that. Riding shotgun is my fav spot.Being food motivated, I love puzzle toys, where I need to figure out how/work to get the treats. I also enjoy walks, running (I'd make an excellent running partner), hiking and just getting out stretching my legs. I do thrive in a structured environment with an active family. I bond deeply with my people and love attention. I will let you know when I am deprived of your attention, if you are giving attention to other dogs. I am on Reconcile (fluoxetine) 32 mg, once daily for anxiety, which the veterinarian who wrote the recommendation letter thinks I could be weaned from once I am acclimated into my forever home.I've done well with similarly sized or confident dogs, but do have a high prey drive, so would not be suitable for homes with cats, small dogs, or small animals. Stuffed aninals are super fun. They don't tend to last terribly long around me though, so toughy types are best.I love going to my doggie daycare. My rescuers say I am a really special pup and they could see me being an active person's best buddy. They have stated everyone who works with me loves me.My best match would be with an adult-only home or one with older, dog-savvy teens, as I can be sensitive to sudden movements. Small children would probably just be a little bit too unpredictable for me. Also, I currently like to sniff and approach people before deciding about being interactive. If I am okay with them touching, I will lean in or place my head by their hand.I'm ready for a home that understands my needs and will give me the guidance, activity, and loyalty I deserve.
