Sally (S. Korea) hz
About
Hi, I'm Sally! Breed: Terrier mixAge: 4.5 yearsGender: Female Weight: 32 lb Highlight(s): Good with other dogs, mellow and kindI’m one of the lucky dogs who was given a second chance after the shelter I lived in Korea was rescued from closure. While my past is mostly a mystery, I'm ready to leave it behind and start my new life with a loving family.I'm a gentle, sweet girl who enjoys the quiet things in life. I can be a little shy when we first meet, but with a few tasty treats and a little patience, I'll soon learn to trust you. I'm not the type to shower you with excitement right away—instead, I show my love in calm, quiet ways and will happily keep you company.I get along well with other dogs and enjoy peaceful companionship, especially with dogs closer to my size. I’m not much of a playmate, but I’m happy to share my space and coexist. I have a moderate-to-low energy level, so I enjoy nice walks followed by relaxing at home. The big world is still a little overwhelming for me. Since I spent many months tied up outdoors before being rescued, I’m still learning about leashes, city life, and all the new sights and sounds. I may startle easily, but I’ve never shown aggression—I just need someone who will help me build confidence at my own pace.I’m still working on things like house training and riding in the car without feeling queasy, but I’m making progress every day. I don't guard my food or toys, I don't mind being left alone, and I'm not an escape artist. I may whine a little in my crate because it's still new to me, and I might bark to let you know someone is at the door or if I need something.Health: I have severe dental abrasion with pulp exposure, likely from chewing on hard surfaces during my difficult past. My future family should be prepared to continue any veterinary care recommended to keep me comfortable and healthy. If you're looking for a kind-hearted, mellow companion who will blossom with patience and love, I think we could be the perfect match. I can't wait to meet you and start our next chapter together.I get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknownKids: unknownEngergy Level: Moderate Low, Enjoys outdoor activities and likes to rest/calm at home after walks. Fears: A bit tense outside and easily startled . Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Leash skills: Yes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver.Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you.The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live.Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.
