This 6-year-old Australian Cattle Dog mix is searching for a patient, experienced home where she can finally feel safe and loved. Having had a rough start before coming into care, she can be fearful of loud noises, fast movements, and unfamiliar situations. She would thrive in a calm, adult-only home with guardians who understand fearful dogs and can give her the time and space she needs to build trust. A fully fenced yard is recommended to help her feel secure.When first meeting new people, she may pace and appear unsure, but beneath her cautious exterior is a sweetheart with a heart of gold. Once she feels comfortable, her affectionate side emerges and she'll happily jump into your lap for pets and attention. She knows how to sit when she's feeling confident and connected, and she may enjoy the company of another dog of similar size and play style. For the right home, this lovely girl will be a loyal and rewarding companion.On physical exam, a grade 1-2/6 systolic heart murmur was detected. The dog appears to be otherwise in good health with no physical signs of heart disease. The murmur may be innocent (physiological) or may be related to congential or other forms of heart disease.
