About

Hi, I'm Tuxedo! Breed: Jindo mixAge: 6.5 yearsGender: Male Weight: 54 lb Highlight(s): Good with other dogs, social, happyI've been waiting a long time for my forever family. After the shelter I lived in Korea closed due to financial difficulties, all of us were at risk of euthanasia. Thankfully, a rescue effort gave me a second chance, and now I'm hoping my happy ending is just around the corner.Everyone says I have a smile that lights up the room. I love spreading happy vibes! I'm very friendly with people, though I can be a little shy when we first meet. Give me a few gentle pets (or a tasty treat!), and before long I'll be showing you my belly and soaking up all the love.I'm a calm, easygoing boy with a moderate-low energy level. I enjoy my walks and outdoor adventures, but once we're home, I'm happy to relax by your side. I get along well with other dogs and prefer peaceful friendships over rough play. If another dog is grumpy, I'll simply walk away—I like to keep the peace.Because I spent many months tied up outside at the city shelter, I'm still learning about leash walking and busy urban life. I follow my handler well and am making great progress every day. I'm also gentle with children, crate trained, and don't show resource guarding, separation anxiety, or escape tendencies. I may bark occasionally if I'm asking for something, but I'm generally a quiet, sweet companion. I'm not fully housetrained yet, but with patience and consistency, I'm ready to learn. If you're looking for a kind-hearted, smiling best friend who has waited far too long for a family to call his own, I can't wait to meet you.I get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknownKids: yes (no video proof)Engergy Level: Moderate-low energy level, Enjoys outdoor activities and likes to rest/calm at home after walks. Fears: Non observed . Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Leash skills: Yes. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: Not yetHealth notes: I have been neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $750.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver.Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you.The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live.Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.
